STAYING CLEAN

Sometimes days can get you down,

Taking its toll upon the ground.

As you try to stay clean,

Yes that’s right from drugs I mean.

        In this life of sacrifice,

Now saying no is really nice.

Giving you a chance, as you fight,

Cleaning up your act isn't that right.

        Letting your words take control,

Enhancing your spirit, body and soul.

As you go fourth, with Gods faith,

Now understanding your life he saved

KICKING THE HABITS

Kicking the habits, of drugs and drink,

In this life, makes you think.

Crazy thoughts, that sounds so daft,

Killing of time, to make people laugh.

In a world, of violence and fun,

Never going back, to what you've done.

Going on, from strength to strength,

To show people love, by any length.

Having the time to write what’s wrong,

Enhancing your spirit, so you stay strong.

Hoping that you, can stay clean,

Along life’s road, that can be mean.

Because in your heart you know what to do,

In this life that belongs to you.

Then you can stand and be proud,

Saying you kicked the habits, right out loud.

STREET LIFE

Seeing the things people go through,

Taking abuse by passers by to.

        Realising things can get worse,

        Eventually because of realities curse.

        Easily slipping right back down,

To that level that you found.

Little by little as you let go,

Into the world of drugs you know.

Finding a friend to hold on to,

Ending that feeling you got in you.

Sitting On The Street

When I sit here on the street,
Rhyming words that are unique.
You pass me by in disgrace,
While spitting on my poor face.

As I try to help myself,
To make things better without wealth.
So I can do what I can,
To survive upon this land.

To rise among the rich with glory,
To tell the world a different story.
About what its like upon the street,
In words of rhyme that are unique.

Even though it can get cold,
I won't be here when I am old.
Because I belief in what I do,
To help people like me to.

As I am one who has a heart,
Who will try his best I do remark.
To show the world as a nation,
That homeless people where Gods creation.

Even though we have our doubts,
In life itself and what it’s about.
As we will survive by any means,
Even when we get ourselves clean.

To do the things that has to be done,
To help those people, one on one.
To show the world, what we can do,
Because we know God loves us to.

What Is An Addiction

What is an addiction, what can it be,
An addiction is something that satisfies thee.
It could be coffee, tea or even a drink,
Cigarettes are another with the same link.

Then you have cannabis, heroin and crack,
Along with weed as a matter of fact.
Buying and selling could be classified the same,
Along with gambling with no one to blame.

So as you can see addictions a lot,
Of different things that most people have got.
With different circumstances many have found,
Addiction has cost them and brought them right down.

Into the gutters of a shameful life,
Loosing everything children and wife.
Trying to kick it to start again,
But will they do it lets hope my friend.

What a big task,

What a big task,
With a question to ask,
Spare a little change,
So simple, so fast.

Getting a reply,
With no word of a lie,
Get a bloody job,
Or curl up and die.

What a mistake,
So what the heck,
Having drug problems,
Like heroin and crack.

So what do you do?
Well that’s up to you,
Now have a nice evening,
So I can do what I do.

The Homeless Man

It was one of those days,
That happened so fast,
When a row broke out,
As minutes they passed.

Then all of a sudden,
He was facing the street,
A life of hell,
This I repeat.

With nothing to do,
Except hit the bottle,
As his life fell to pieces,
Going full throttle.

With nowhere to sleep,
And very little money,
What could he do?
For this wasn't funny.

Then along came a friend,
To take away the pain,
Along with the cold,
That was numbing his brain.

Making life easier,
To live this way,
Then all of a sudden,
He had a habit I say.

Then getting the courage,
To beg on the street,
For money, for drugs,
And hot food to eat.

Thinking oh no,
What have I done?
I'm better than this,
For I’m not a bum.

But what could he do,
He had no one to blame,
Except for himself,
Which is a shame.

Going cold turkey,
With aches and pains,
It was time to get clean,
And tighten the reigns.

But was it the answer,
No not at all,
For he hadn't a roof,
Or a bed I recall.

Waiting for help,
From a C.A.T. team,
To give him a place,
If you know what I mean.

So he could flourish,
And rise to the top,
With the help from some people,
So everything could stop.

Which was too late,
For he seemed to be lost,
In a world of chaos,
Which definitely did cost.

Until that day came,
When the homeless man died,
The poor man's wife,
Had no father for child.

So remember this folks,
For some people it’s true,
Because drugs is a killer,
And alcohol too.

Addictions

Smoking old dog ends, dimps or butts,
Eating bad food and having bad guts.
While drinking the beer that someone has left,
Then turning to crime or some kind of theft.

As you take heroin and crack cocaine,
To take away the cold that’s driving you insane.
While begging up money, oh what a sin,
Because of addictions that’s started within.

In this life that’s absolute hell,
Even though others, think we is well.
Then going cold turkey with aches and pains,
Oh God no, please not again.
